Year Started With Body Limits – 2012
I originally began working at Body limits in August 2012 just after completing an Advanced BTEC LV3 in Sports Science, Fitness and Coaching, and a BTEC LV2 in Gym instruction. I began work as a gym instructor and began working with members writing programs giving guidance on things like technique, form, nutrition, motivation and progression.
Since then I have gone on to complete a FdSc in Sports Therapy, during which I spent time with different sports teams ranging from basketball, rugby to football, working pitch side with young athletes and their coaching staff where I learnt valuable first-hand experience of first aid, Sports Injuries, injury prevention and injury management. I intend to further my studies in the future looking possibly at Acupuncture and Manipulation therapy.
I Arrived quite late in life to the Sports Science field and began my training as a mature student. My work life prior is varied but mainly revolved around a hot kitchen working as a chef since I was 16. I have worked in other fields such as a Prison Officer as well as in construction and logistics. I am certain that my previous work experience has taught me great communication, personal and organisational skills which help me with my new skill sets today.
In the past I have taken part in many sports such as Boxing, Cricket, Football, Ice Hockey and Rugby and although I don’t play or compete in any teams anymore I like to stay in shape and keep fit, cycling everywhere I go and looking after my diet.
Working at Body Limits is like being part of a family and I always look forward to coming into work and seeing the guys. My other duties at the clinic include looking after reception, managing stock and product ordering and helping with the general day to day running of the clinic.
